Tidbits

Thank you for completing the Because of You assignment. I have to admit, I teared up reading all those sweet messages! I would like to put them on scrapbook paper and laminate them. Please let me know if you would like the pictures back the way they were and I will not laminate it. I will send home a note as well. 

 

Reading/Writing

Our kickoff with our "Kindness" unit last week went extremely well! The kiddos had such a blast writing a friendly letter to students in the Napa Valley Unified School District. They had an even better time picking a few supplies to send over. We will be mailing our donations by the end of this week. I hoping that this small project will instill a sense of compassion and community outreach with my students. 

 

Math

We have completed writing 2-Digit numbers, locating and comparing 2-Digit numbers on a number line. We will be finishing Module 1 this week and completing Check Up 2. 

Monday:  Exploring the Properties of Odd and Even Numbers

Tuesday: Solving Puzzles on a Hundreds Chart

Wednesday: Sorting Data in Different Ways

Thursday: Interpreting 1:1 Graphs

 

Spelling

Starting this week, the spelling words will be in correlation to the weekly story and spelling pattern/focus. Every Thursday prior, I will adminster a spelling pretest. Based on how each student does, they will either stay with the regular spelling list or I will give them a challenge list. The spelling words that they will be responsible for will be stapled to their pretest. Their pretest and new spelling words were sent home on Thursday. If they need another copy please let me know. The spelling list should be placed on the back of their homework folder.
