Hello families! Welcome to another week in 2nd grade. Hope you all had a great weekend! 

 

Tidbits: Since we are in standard based grading, second grade will not be sending home progress reports. (I apologize, I thought we still were). Report cards will go home once at the end of every quarter. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be next month. Please keep an eye out for a date/time that will be sent home with your child. 

 

Reading: The Elves and the Shoemaker

We will continue our weekly kindness reading with this exciting fantasy story. 

 

Vocabulary: elves, shoemaker, flash, leather, finest

 

Mission Possible Activity: The kiddos were sent home with a 'Top Secret' envelope on Thursday. This activity will be in correlation with our weekly story. Please encourge your child to do at least one kindness deed once a day for seven days. The sheet should be brought back to school on Thursday. 

 

Math: We are continuing on with Module 2.

Monday: Working with Count On Fact Families

Tuesday: Extending the Count on Strategy to 2-Digit Numbers

Wednesday: Using Place Value (Hundred Chart) to Add 2-Digit Numbers

Thursday: Using Place Value (Number Line) to Add 2-Digit Numbers
