Tidbits

Welcome families! Can you believe that we are already jumping into October? This quarter has sure been flying by! Parent/teacher conferences will take place Friday, October 24th. Please keep a look out for times in your child's homework folder. I would like to congratulate Wyatt and Alice for reaching their A.R. Goals already! Woohoo! The class has filled their treasures and have earned a special class prize. They have voted to have a pajama day! This will take place on Thursday, October 2nd. 

 

Homework: Please encourage your child to not only complete their homework, but to turn it in as well. They are only required to do one spelling practice a night(for a total of 3 practices a week) and 20 minutes of reading daily. Once in a while they will get an extra assignment, but will not take much extra time. 

 

Reading: The Lion and the Mouse 

Vocabulary: snoozing, furious, repay, raged, gnaw

 

Math: 

Monday: Using Place Value to Add 2-Digit Numbers Using a Number Line

Tuesday: review of lessons 1-7

Wednesday: Reading and Writing Times on the Hour and Half Past the Hour

Thursday: Working with Duration

 

Writing:

We will continue on working with complete sentences and opinion writing this week. 

 

Spelling: 

Regular-repay, meter, eve, gene, beside, elect, pretend, these, hero, demand

Challenge-compete, create, evening, delete, eraser
